Despite the city lights & the lonely glow of isolation,
the view I have stares back and feeds me the same lie.
Self seeking, separate bodies grasping towards pleasure, running from pain.
Thought after thought of further doings instead of continual being.
Moments of now drip away the moment I realize the moment of now then it’s gone like
rain drops of illusions. Flicker now, flicker later, these human fire flies,
never sitting still, this pattern of endless wanting from what lies outside.
I too have been down to the city lights, grasped at and even caught a few city lies.
This endless cycle for more, the infinitely disappointed egoic mind,
I was left more addicted to nothing, giving up infinite spirit for rotting flesh.
Tonight I chose the inner world
Tonight I will dance with my soul
Tonight I will be still
